The goal
The project began with a thorough analysis of the existing brand and its market position. We initially evaluated Van der Veen's The Dutch Store's current brand identity, including its logo, color palette, typography, and overall visual elements. Our aim was to retain recognizable elements that resonate with the existing customer base, ensuring a sense of continuity.
With a clear understanding of the audience, we proceeded to refine and modernize the brand's visual identity. The new design elements incorporated contemporary design trends while maintaining a connection to Dutch heritage.

The process
We kept the original blue color but made it slightly darker and introduced orange as it better aligned with the Dutch brand. We incorporated Dutch artwork into the headers for a more authentic feel. While we couldn't find the exact font, we chose one similar to maintain consistency yet give the site a fresh look.
This project taught me the importance of designing while considering others' requirements and preferences rather than just relying on personal taste. It was a valuable learning experience.
